Growing Up

Our little buggy is growing up so fast! In the past week, she has gotten her first tooth which is still working on coming all the way in. It's the bottom left one if you are looking at her and I can see that the one next to it will be not to far behind. It's going to be pretty funny to see her with one tooth until the other one comes in. Then, today for Mother's Day, she said her first words! Da da and ma ma! To my dismay, she said da da first and is saying that more often but I figure it's easier to say for babies so I'm not too hurt over it. Luckily we did get some footage of her babbling which is great. It's funny how two days ago she was not talking like this and all of a sudden, she is just jabbering away today. I guess she decided she has had enough of sitting back and hearing conversations and would like to now participate. How fast they grow up!

Pee Wee Herman

As most of you know, Brian is a collector, mostly a junk collector I would say. He buys things and holds on to them for FOREVER and thinks they are an "investment" for the future. I always give him crap for this because our whole garage is always packed full of boxes and tons of things that take up way too much space and leave it looking way too cluttered. Well, finally he decided to pull out all of his Pee Wee Herman memorabilia that I have been asking him to do for about a year now so we can get rid of it. I have to admit, as much as I hate the clutter, this Pee Wee stuff and various other things, has brought in quite the cash flow. Who knew that people out there ACTUALLY buy and collect this stuff, go figure!!!
So far I have liquidated on ebay and other various sites the Pee Wee Ventriloquist, a lunchbox, 1 chairry, Miss Yvonne, and 2 Billy Baloneys. I have also sold Luke Skywalker action figure and Batman-Bob the Joker's Goon. To top it all off, I've sold the bouncer of Emme's I did not like, a chair, and the last steelcase desk. I feel pretty proud of myself to have accomplished all of these because I thought we would be stuck with all of these stuff for a long time. I have made over $450 so far!!! And on top of that, my garage is alot less cluttered and messy. I still have a long way to go though. I have lots of other Pee Wee things to get rid of as well as other various action figures etc. that Brian has accummulated. So far, I think I'm off to a good start though. Here is a picture of what I have to deal with and that's only part of it!

Swimming!

Emme started her first swimming lessons last week. We have them every Tuesday and Thursday for two weeks. I'm going to sign her up again after these ones are over so she can become a little fish :) I was definately nervous to see how she would react to the pool. She loves her baths but a swimming pool is alot cooler than the bath tub. Luckily they heat the pool at the community center so when we first got in, she didn't even have a reaction to it!

Turns out little Emme loves the swimming lessons! She even has gotten dunked under for both lessons so far and she only cried for a second when she came up but that was because the instructor "Miss Mary" was holding her and as soon as she gave her back to me, she stopped. She actually holds her breath under water too because when she comes up, she isn't coughing or swallowing any of the water. It's amazing to me she automatically knows how to do that already. We discovered she does not like it all when Miss Mary holds her in the pool and takes her away from me, she's screams bloody murder. I'm pretty sure it's a stranger anxiety thing because when she comes back to me, everything is fine again. Emme is really turning into the little fish and she even goes on a boogie board on her tummy, too cute! Here are a few pictures, unfortunately I couldn't get any with her in the pool because I'm always in the pool with her and trying to take a picture while holding her is pretty much impossible. My goal is to ask another Mommy there to take our picture in the pool in the next few lessons so I will have one of her in the water at least.
Getting ready for our lesson...

Chilling in the sun after our swim...The last one is her cranky face because I took the camera case away from her, but her wet suit top is too cute I thought!
