Emme is 3 months

So I can't believe Emme is already three months old!! Where does the time go? She is getting so big and her personality is really coming out. Everyday it seems like she does something new. She is so bright eyed and aware of everything and wants to check every little thing out. Brian and I call her and 'old soul' because she just seems so much older than she is, even from the day she was born she was like that. She was lifting her head up and pretty much opened her eyes right away to see what was going on.

She has really starting using her voice lately and in the past few days is doing this screeching thing, which is kind of funny but also kind of piercing so I hope she gets over that part quickly :) I'm sure she is just discovering what she can do with her voice and likes to hear it. She also is on the verge of rolling over, she has been trying to do that for the past few weeks but she is coming so close to doing it now, she almost had it yesterday. Our favorite part of the day with her is when she wakes up in the morning. She is always so happy and smiley and stretches for like 15 minutes while she makes the funniest faces. We really love our little bug who by the way is still sleeping at 10:20 am from going to bed last night at 11 pm, could it get any better?! I think she is making up for the first month of her life where she would only sleep like 20 minutes at night at a time!! So if you moms out there are jealous, I deserve it, she was a challenge for quite awhile in the sleep department!

Emme's First Christmas

Despite all of us being under the weather, we managed to have a wonderful Christmas. We usually go to Heidi's family's event but this year with Emme being sick, we decided it would be better to stay home and not take the chance of making Emme sicker. Brian had to work Christmas Eve and the afternoon of Christmas Day, but we did get the first part of Christmas Day together to open presents. Emme had gotten tons of books, toys, and clothes from us as well as Brian's family so she had a very good first Christmas I would say. Here is Em with some of her new presents to open...

She will have lots of new books to read...

And we love the poncho and hat Tammy's neighbor made for her, that will come in handy next month when we visit Wisconsin...

Even Remy and Marley got some new toys and they decided to snuggle up together for some heat...
Brian and I exchanged presents as well and got each other some really nice things, but who knew his favorite gift I got him would be his toy helicopter that he is currently playing with and flying around as we speak. I've discovered that guys are pretty much happy with any toy they would have liked as a kid. What's really funny is that Tre, Brian's sister's husband, got one for Christmas too. I think Monica and I were thinking on the same wave length.

The Sick Baby

Poor Emme is sick with a bad cold, actually all of us are. Brian is just starting to feel sick today and Emme and I have been sick since Saturday evening. While I can deal with being sick, poor Em doesn't understand why she is stuffed up and can't breathe every well. She has really been a trooper through it all. She is still smiley and giggling at me throughout the day even though her nose is all runny and she is congested. She had a really good night last night despite not breathing too well. I have been running her cow humidifer when she is sleeping...

while not only being cute, seems to help out as well. I gave her a vapor bath last night which I think helped out as well because she slept very well for being sick. It's scary being a new mom when your baby gets sick! My best friend's baby Levi is sick as well with a cold too so I guess it's just going around but it's hard being helpless when you want to do something for your child and you can't do much. I can't imagine not being able to blow my nose and poor Em hates getting her boogers sucked out, which I can't imagine is too fun. I guess all this has tuckered her out...
