Wisconsin

Sorry it has taken me forever to get my next blog up. We have been run down with the flu and cold here at the Lilly household. Emme started it with 102 degree fever last Friday and we have all pretty much gotten it right after that. Brian didn't really have it as much as Emme and I have, he never gets as sick, some people are just lucky in that department I guess. Not me, if someone is sick, I always get it. So Emme was a trooper through it all and we are still coughing and sneezing over here between the both of us but I'm hoping it will clear up in the next week or so. I'm happy to report at Emme's 4 month check up, she weighs 15 lbs, 12 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. She's doing very well in the growth department and everything is good with her besides being sick. Why is it right after you have a check up and everything is fine, your kid gets sick the next day?

So, now about Wisconsin. We had a great time and although it was cold, it wasn't that bad because we tried to limit the time we went outside. Of course the nicest day we were there was the day we were leaving, go figure.

Emme got to meet Grandma Peggy and The Donald and some of our other relatives she hasn't met before so that was fun. She also loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa.

She also got to meet my cousin's girls who just loved her. Abrianna is having a new baby brother or sister in the next coming days here so she followed Emme everywhere and kept saying she wanted to hold her.

Anna & AbriannaBrian also went ice fishing and let's just say, he is quite the fisherman. In four hours, he caught one fish the size of his finger basically. Ok, I can't give him too much crap for it because my uncle was the only one to catch much of anything.

Emme also started majorly teething the day we got there of course so we had to start giving her alittle tylenol at night which definately helped. She's been teething for awhile but she definately stepped it up a notch lately. Her cheeks have never been rosier.

All in all, we had a great time and it was sad to leave and say goodbye to everyone until next time. It's hard to come home to a lonely house with no family there when you are used to having everyone around all the time. We can't wait to see everyone again soon!

Also, alittle disclaimer to those parents to have never flown with infants. It's a huge production getting through security!!! You have to take your sleeping kid out of the car seat and wake them up so they can scan it through the xray machine. Then you have to watch them try to jam your stroller through the machine when you can clearly see it won't fit. Finally they figure out it won't fit and then they take it off the table and manually scan it. Then, you have to take out all the bottles you brought, open each one of them, and have them test all of the water to make sure it's actually water. Let me tell you, plan for like an extra 20 minutes just to get through that. At least my kid was very well behaved and we didn't have any meltdowns on the plane, so I would say that was a success!
